Infrastructure
The programmers at Ivory Consulting work primarily in Visual Studio and Visual Studio .NET. Most code is written in C++, and some with Visual Basic. Programmers run Windows XP on 3.2 GHz or faster Pentium IV computers.
We have also started developement using Borland C++ Builder running on a SUSE Linux box.
Our network is centered around our Microsoft Windows 2000 Server running on dual 2.0 GHz Athlon processors with 3 GBs of RAM and several mirrored SCSI hard drives. All our workstations are connected to 100Mbps ports on one of two HP ProCurve Switches.
For e-mail, we use Microsoft Exchange Server. A Cisco 1700 router provides a T-1 connection to the Internet via our ISP Cogent. Our local area network is protected with a Sonicwall Pro 200 Firewall.
In the DMZ, we host our web site in-house on a 3 GHz Pentum IV machine running Windows 2000 Server and IIS.
