- There was no link to click
on in the email:
Your email program may have stripped out the link for security reasons.
Click here to see if you
can open the file from your browser.
- I was not given the choice
to open the file:
Your email program or your web browser may not
allow you to open executable files. Try saving the STCHECK.EXE file
on your desktop and running it from there.
When asked "Would you like to open the file or save it to your
disk?" click "Save." Then save the STCHECK.EXE file to
your desktop. Once it is saved, double-click the STCHECK.EXE icon on
your desktop.
You can delete the STCHECK.EXE file when you have successfully updated
your license file.
- I cannot download executable
files.
Some companies do not allow executable file downloads.
You may still be able to download the new license file SSSETS.STA. This
file needs to be saved in the SYSTEM32 folder on your hard disk. Click
here to download the SSSETS.STA file. This link includes instructions.
If that still does not work, please contact us
and we will send the STCHECK.EXE program to you on a floppy disk.
- I cannot download any files.
Please contact
us and we will send the STCHECK.EXE program to you on a floppy disk.
- I have a network installation.
Contact your network administrator to perform
this update. It only needs to be done once. Download the SSSETS file
and save it to the SEC folder on the shared drive where the SuperTRUMP
executable (STW.EXE) is installed. Click
here to download the SSSETS.STA file. This link includes instructions.
- License file utility gives
message that the security file is not found.
You may receive this message for a couple of different
reasons.
One, you may be running an older version of SuperTRUMP that does not
use the SSSETS.STA license file. To check the release version and date
in SuperTRUMP, from the Help menu, select About SuperTRUMP. Versions
under 7.92 use an older licensing system that does not have a February
01, 2004 expiration date. We suggest upgrading to version 8.5 as soon
as possible.
Two, you may have a network installation of SuperTRUMP. You
can find out if you have a network installation by running SuperTRUMP
and from the Help menu, select About SuperTRUMP. Network
installations are indicated in the top line "SuperTRUMP Standard
Network Version 8.0," or something to that effect. Also, there
should be a executable path and working directory displayed at the bottom
of the screen.
- What versions are affected?
All versions 7.92 and later with a release date prior to the January
2004 8.5 release are affected. You may have a beta version 8.6 that
was released prior to January 2004. Even though the version number is
higher than the 8.5 release, it still may include the license file with
a February 1, 2004 expiration date.
- What about the 8.50 release?
The January 2004 8.50 release includes a new license file that does
not have the February 1, 2004 expiration date.
- How do I know if I have the
new license file?
If you have a standalone installation you can run the STCHECK.EXE program.
It will display the expiration date. If the expiration is after February
1, 2004, you have the updated license file.
If you have a network installation, check the date of the SSSETS.STA
file in the ...IVORY\SEC folder on the shared drive.
If you don't know where the SEC folder is located, run SuperTRUMP and
from the Help menu select About SuperTRUMP. The location of the executable
is displayed there and the SEC folder is in the folder where the STW.EXE
file is located.
If the SSSETS.STA file is dated January 5, 2004 or later then it is
up to date.
